I have never successfully been able to do it without it looking like garbage.

I replaced the coil packs at 150,000km because the vehicle would occasionally die on me or drop a cylinder when coming to a normal halt. I got a set of genuine coil packs back then. Well, at 185000km, it started again and I figured it’s probably still the original plugs.
- 2/10/2007 · The last time I cleaned the towers on my coil packs I just used some 1500 grit sandpaper until they were shiny again and then threw a dab of di-electric grease on them.
- If they are building up corrosion or whatever - They do need to be kept clean cause that dirt on there is causing resistance that should not be there.
- 14/11/2013 · given the random nature, the first option would be coil packs or plugs, which you have already done.. so I would look at injectors next. EDIT – sorry, I misread, looks like you haven't actually changed the coil packs or plugs yet.. so I would go with the coil packs first.
